Tonia O. Alabi
The Lord is my true shepherd,
I have everything I need.
Everything I need he gives me.
He lets me rest in meadow grass,
And leads me to calm streams,
He helps me do what honours him the most.
The words above are the lyrics of a song in the Catholic Hymn book Page 100.
Looking for a way to express my gratitude to God the Almighty, for what He did for me and my family during the wedding ceremonies of our twin daughters dubbed “Mixed Doubles Wedding” by Steve my blessed hubby, I found this hymn.
What do you say, when you have to walk two beautiful well bred, distinguished ladies down the aisle of your Church with all eyes on you. You can only say, I am blessed.
I watched Steve with all admiration and thanked God for helping me to come in timely not to miss this great moment of our lives as parents.
I had prayed for this day to come but never thought it would come this way. My Lord worked it out. Sure he sent out St. Gabriel to announce the Mixed Double wedding to the Grooms to - be then. They, like St. Joseph opted to do the will of God the Father. I bless God for the gift of my new sons. I love you sons. Like the words of the song, everything I need He gives me. Yes, there are things I seem to need and I have not, my Lord knows them all, and I trusting in Him believe He shall give at due season. Alleluia!
I share this with you, so you know the Lord is able in all things, situations or season. In times of famine, His land is rich and fertile and His people have their baskets full. No economic policy or political situation determines your fate because the Kingdom you belong to has abundance. We saw Love in abundance. God bless all Kingdom people who rose up to the call to make our children’s wedding, the Wedding in Cana. All who attended attested to the fact that all was beautiful and gave God the glory.
The very interesting part of all are lessons learnt:
Give God the chance and He would marvel you.
Be humble and you will be honoured.
Let God’s love prevail, and the last but not the least,
The Kingdom of God is here on Earth.
We are proud winners in Christ, you too can be a Winner in Christ.
Though Christ has already come into the world, the Church invites us to renew our desire for the Lord more deeply in our lives and to renew our desire for Christ’s triumphant second coming into the world.
