Sing His Praise
Tonia O. Alabi

Is it not a wonder that we are entering the last month of the third quarter of this year 2020, soon we will be hearing “jingle bells” I kind of feel some excitement within me. What about you?

This year seems to be a mixed grill of the good, the bad and the ugly. The ugly I say surely, is the introduction of COVID 19 into the World system, either intentionally or by accident.

The bad, is the way the governments of the world and particularly Africa are carrying on about their “undeliverable” support to the SMEs, who are the main backbone of the National Economy.

The good, is how people are exhibiting their survival skills in the face of all challenges. It is not by might but by the immeasurable grace of our Almighty God, the Sustainer of the Universe. It is quite amazing and impressive how man’s creativity is been enhanced. I think this is possible because we feel helpless and talk to our inner being, our spirit. Man seems to be more dependent on Divine inspiration and will.

My excitement comes from all I see around me and with me, with my family - the Hand of God working in us. It is just an awesome feeling and I can say I have not known a better time than now. I speak by the spirit of God in me, full of faith, hope and charity towards the Kingdom of Heaven.

I believe in God and in His Word – the Christ. His promise to be with us in all situations is supposed to be an assurance for us. This should make us content with what He is doing with us now, so that we may ask Him, Lord what is your plan for me this day. Do with me what thou wilt, and as a Perfect Father, He says He will bless our days as long as we submit ourselves in humility. He is the source;
The Source of Peace
The Source of Life in fullness
The Source of Joy and Happiness

Father Mark Mary (EWTN) says, when we shut ourselves from all the devotions Christ opens up to us through these devotions, then we decide to face the other side of that which is life without Christ. In his words, the consequence could be grief. Jer 2: 1 – 3, 7- 8, 12- 13.

Please let’s keep our eyes on the Source so we are Winners in Christ.

So soon…It’s Lent Again

Having Ash Wednesday begin so soon again in February makes it difficult for me to understand. I usually accept the fact that I must just roll with it. Ready or not, Lent is here and I will accept that and keep on doing the best I can!

The Heavy Burdens We Carry »

I have been thinking a great deal about my experience at Reconciliation this past Saturday. I felt an intense and unexplainable urge to go and confess my sins when I woke up that morning. I try to go every six weeks or so, but this was no routine visit to the priest for me. I needed to unburden myself of the numerous venial sins I had committed since I last participated in this Sacrament.

Purest Gold: God's Refining Fire in our Lives »

After salvation, many young Christians wonder if there's anything more to their newfound faith than just the security blanket of "being a Christian." When Your Faith Is Put to the Test - Bishop Barron's Sunday Sermon»

Friends, we come now to the Second Sunday of Lent, and we’re on both dangerous and very holy ground with the first reading from the twenty-second chapter of Genesis. The ancient Israelites referred to it as the “Akedah,” which means the “binding”: Abraham binds and is ready to sacrifice Isaac at God’s command.
