Happy 2020 to all readers of on International Catholic Magazine.
It is amazing how time flies. Some few years back, year 2020 was the target or deadline mentioned for achieving world programmes. The UN Vision 2020 was the pace setter and many other world bodies, organizations and governments tied in their programmes into it.
I will not be surprised if individual persons tied their ambitions into it as well :).
All might have believed it was a good, long enough time to achieve the target set.
Years went by and came 2019, I am tempted to sing "At the mention of 2019, many legs tremble..."
2019 though was quite challenging but if we take time to think deep, that is the one year, God answered our prayers most. This is because we were forced to go on our knees more and look unto the cross for help.
The name Jesus came unto our lips more times and surely at the mention of that name, the demons flee, doors opened and prayers got answered.
I am a living testimony of God's glory shining more inthe land of the living. 2019 made me to pray like I have never prayed before and amazingly, God answered my prayers in dimensions greater than I could ever think of. Steve, my husband was a great help. He kept on telling me and the children and anyone who came into our discussion of "How the governments of the world were failing their people" that we are Kingdom people and our source is "The Kingdom of Heaven".
The President is God and Jesus the Governor. Their budget is never limited but ever buoyant and more than our needs. So we needed to look up to God for our provision. Truly, we prayed to God through Jesus and our needs were sufficiently met. We had many surprises in the family courtesy our brother and friend, Jesus Christ.
I wouldn't say we didn't still have some petitions not granted, but because we know how God never fails, we are not disappointed. So far the grace of life has been given to us and we are in the year 2020, we know surely the awaiting petitions are going to be perfectly treated and granted that our joy will be full, fuller than it would have been in 2019.
So brethren, Keep Hope Alive. Do not despair or become despondent, for Master Jesus has come again. He has taken charge (if you will let him) and all will be well with those who truly believe they are Kingdom Children.
If you are a Kingdom Child, you will not be looking at what the world has to offer, but you will be looking more at the things of God.
Our foster father, St. Joseph occupied himself with thoughts of God, he counted on God's grace to achieve for God, that which He has purposed for Jesus and he loved the two most important people (Mary and Jesus) whom God had put in his care, with the love of God. He was obedient and selfless. He was contented with being the spouse of the one who is called Blessed. He loved God.
Let us do the same; Love God above all things.
Love God in our fellow brothers and sisters
Live for God and Humanity and this Leap Year will turn out to be a blessing to us Kingdom people.
Keep Hope Alive and be a winner in Christ.
I have been thinking a great deal about my experience at Reconciliation this past Saturday. I felt an intense and unexplainable urge to go and confess my sins when I woke up that morning. I try to go every six weeks or so, but this was no routine visit to the priest for me. I needed to unburden myself of the numerous venial sins I had committed since I last participated in this Sacrament.
