The Lenten season began with many of us struggling to follow Christ on the forty days’ journey.
Many would have been confused about to walk up to Christ to join in the journey, especially considering how far they had strayed away from the path. But for God being so faithful, He continues to invite us to Himself with His reassuring words which comes to us through the Gospel each passing day.
So I am sure each one of His children found their way back to Him, some having to cling to the tip of His garment so that He drags them along on the journey.
Soon, the season comes to an end and we sing Hosanna for our Lord’s triumphant entry into the hands of His enemies who were prepared to put Him to shame. Shame they thought, but glory it became and it still is. Jesus wins all the way!
So like the crowd who spread their garments for Christ to ride on, let us also spread down all that hold us back from being true children of God, that our King and Saviour may trample upon and destroy them, that we may once again shout Alleluia and Hosanna!
That our life in Christ may once again shine to light up the world around us.
That the devil and his cohorts may bend down in shame.
That we may continue to live our lives, knowing that all we are, and have comes from the Father, who loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son to die for us.
Be redeemed this Easter and forever more. Be a winner in Christ.
I have been thinking a great deal about my experience at Reconciliation this past Saturday. I felt an intense and unexplainable urge to go and confess my sins when I woke up that morning. I try to go every six weeks or so, but this was no routine visit to the priest for me. I needed to unburden myself of the numerous venial sins I had committed since I last participated in this Sacrament.

When Your Faith Is Put to the Test - Bishop Barron's Sunday Sermon»
Friends, we come now to the Second Sunday of Lent, and we’re on both dangerous and very holy ground with the first reading from the twenty-second chapter of Genesis. The ancient Israelites referred to it as the “Akedah,” which means the “binding”: Abraham binds and is ready to sacrifice Isaac at God’s command.
